Oh Budapest, you’re such a beautiful city, full of charm and grace! From the breath taking architecture, to the hot summers sun, to exquisite Hungarian embroidery and lace. This place is such a gem, with so much to do and see. We spent our 4 day trip jammed packed with adventure such as wondering through the famous city streets. Enjoying a romantic scenic boat ride on the Danube river. Indulging in a pampering afternoon at the thermal baths while soaking in the Hungarian summer sun. An Evening of cocktails and Hungarian beer at Szimpla Kert ruin bar while meeting lots of other travellers. Vintage shopping is always on the agenda wherever I go, we headed down to Retrock to see what they had in store, I bought a long hand crochet cardi.
My top favourite places in Budapest
Szechenyi thermal baths
This place is literally heaven, full of character. Its the perfect place to unwind after a busy day exploring the city. Being the largest thermal bath in Europe and Budapest the city of Baths for many centuries it was defiantly on top of our to do list. With various saunas, steamers, outdoor and indoor baths and many pampering treatments you will defiantly leave feeling refreshed.
Vintage shopping is always my favourite, so it was a must for me to check out what vintage gems Budapest had to offer. The interior design at Retrock was on point and brimming with lots of beautiful handpicked vintage.
Scenic Danube river boat ride
Exploring Budapest by foot, and public transport is all swell but we wanted to do something romantic and relaxing together, while soaking in the hot summer sun and enjoying the beautiful scenic views of the city. Danube really is an incredible river, it flows through 10 nations starting from Germany ending up in the Black Sea. Making it Europe’s second longest river! The Danube river cruises are defiantly something worth checking out as well.
Szimpla Kert ruin bar
Budapest sure is an amazing place for a buzzing nightlife with their famous ruin bars. Szimpla Kert is defiantly my kind of place. I adore the rustic, quirky interior and right in the heart of Budapest.
Full of breath taking architecture and stunning views over looking Danube river from the Hill top in the Castle district.
Central Market Hall
I love indulging in culture when I travel, and the central market hall had just that from hungarian handmade crafts to local hungarian food. Being the oldest and largest indoor market in Budapest.
