I feel very blessed that I have been able to spend summer 17 with my love Thomas. If you follow my Instagram storys you can see all the fun adventures that we get up too. Life has been very exciting for both of us, firstly because we have been spending our first summer together and secondly we have both landed new jobs. After recently graduating from university I now work in London part time as a design assistant for a womenswear and childrenswear label called Yumi International where I am working closely with the textile print designers. I have always adored Yumi with their quirky playful prints and vintage style garments. I am very excited to have this opportunity working in London and in the fashion design industry.
I spend the rest of the week working on my practice, building up my textiles portfolio as well as organising my personal life. At university I wasn’t able to focus on all the other things that I have needed to do. Blogging had to take a back seat and so my to do list went on forever. Finally I have been able to articulate my thoughts and make a start working on my future plans and develop my creativity in my home studio.
I am so proud of Thomas who has also moved onto a new accounts job working for a bespoke interior design company in our favourite craft town, Farnham. We are both in the early days of our careers and I feel so blessed to enjoy this exciting journey with him. We share so many common interests such as photography, music, love for the countryside and nature, going on long walks and bicycle rides, interior design, exploring, trips to the coast as well as watching series such as Game of Thrones and eating yummy pizza together.
Love at first sight
I met Thomas in my university town, Farnham in December 2016. During this time, I was working on my dissertation and final major project. Since meeting Thomas he’s truly been a blessing everyday with his support, love and kindness and he has kept me sane through the hardest time of my degree.
Our first date was spent at the beautiful Farnham castle, followed by a long heartfelt walk in the rain. After that we kept warm over hot chocolate and brownies in a cute coffee shop, oh how romantic! I feel as though I have know him forever, he’s become my best friend and just how Fleetwood Mac sing it ”Oh I, I want to be with you everywhere’. You will know they are the one when they are your best friend, who you can be yourself around, share everything with and laugh together endlessly.
I can’t imagine my life without Thomas, he is my forever. Hehe, yes I am very soppy but it’s how I feel and I am such a hopeless romantic (it is the Portuguese and Spanish heritage in me) Going through all those heart aches from past relationships has made me realise what love really is and how he truly loves me for me. Of course I wish I met Thomas years ago, life is a funny old thing and if I didn’t change my university degree from being in London to being in Farnham I don’t think we would have ever crossed paths, but who knows? Everything works out in the end and the person you’re meant to be with will come along and often in the most unexpected places.
Home Sweet Home
We both have the same goals in life and it is so lovely we can talk about them and plan. We dream of living together, getting married and one day having children. One step at a time though, firstly to have our very own home sweet home that we can decorate into our relaxing humble abode and being wake up by each others side, cozy up on the sofa and unwind after a long days work every day. We are currently looking, saving and gathering our thoughts, researching and pinning as much inspiration as we can. We both feel ready for this next exciting step. Enjoying the simple things in life each and every day, not taking time together for granted and spending as much of it together that we possibly can is what makes us feel happy.
Lots of love, Adora xxx
